Who we are

Some members of an affinity group combined together to form west London United Sanatan Association, UK. Previously, it existed as West London Puja Udjapan Parishad. As the membership increased, it was decided to rethink, style at differently and generally put all matters on sounder footing. These members are residents of a big swathe of area encompassing Ruislip, Hillingdon, Uxbridge, Hayes, Southall and West Ealing.

Members must show their commitment by paying their dues and subscriptions promptly, and an office bearer should discharge their duties and functions satisfactorily. Funds raised will be accurately recorded and spending will be fully accountable, and remain under careful scrutiny.

Ours is a Bengali socio cultural group which has its root in ethical and moral principles, and nothing else. For us and for our children, we believe in tolerance where justified. Our organisation is progressive in outlook and it means no harm to anyone, bears no malice to anybody, fosters goodwill between human beings.

It is encouraging to see our membership strength increasing. Initial batch of office bearers have already been democratically chosen, either unanimously or by majority votes. Fresh elections will be conducted at fixed intervals. We shall have a decision making leader to take us in a definite direction.

Our methods of working will be simple, transparent and proactive. Passivity and obstructive manner of a member will not be acceptable. A nonconformist member with his/her dissenting voice will be given the opportunity to air his/her grievances in a meeting which will be held from time to time, and will be either be accepted or rejected subject to majority opinion. Rancour, bitterness will not be allowed to fester, yet we do not envisage it to be an authoritarian, autocratic regime, rather disputes and disagreements should be settled by consensus. It must be emphasised however, we will be hard pressed to expel anyone, eliminate anybody, and instead we shall try to take on board/keep as many as we can. We want to be mutually inclusive, not an exclusive association. WE shall pay due respects to everybody.
